Famille Dutraive Cap O Sud Cinsault 2021:
- Blend: 85% Cinsault, 15% Gamay.
- Profile: Vibrant, natural red wine with ripe red fruit and floral notes. Light yet rich, approachable with minimal tannins and a juicy, refreshing profile. Perfect for pairing with cheeses like cheddar and gruyere or enjoyed on its own.
- Origin: Organic vineyards in the Languedoc region.
- Winemaking: Minimal intervention, whole cluster fermentation, and no oenological products used, relying on natural yeasts.
About the Domaine:
- History: One of the oldest estates in Fleurie, purchased by Jean Dutraive in 1969. Now managed by his son Jean-Louis and gradually being taken over by Jean-Louis’s children.
- Practices: Grapes are manually picked, whole cluster fermented with natural yeasts, and aged naturally.
- Famille Dutraive Project: Started post-2016 hailstorms, involving buying organically cultivated grapes and vinifying them with minimal intervention. Initial cuvées were made from Cinsault and Carignan, now mainly using Gamay from Beaujolais.
