The Illahe Vineyards’ Tempranillo Rose is made with 100% Tempranillo grapes picked early to preserve the wine’s acidity. The grapes are immediately whole-cluster pressed with no cold-soak period, and the resulting juice is fermented in a combination of French oak and acacia barrels, as well as stainless-steel tanks. The wine is a beautiful pale coral pink hue and has crisp and juicy flavors of strawberry, lemon, watermelon, daffodil, and narcissus. With a pH of 3.10 and a titratable acidity of 7.15g/L, this wine has a vibrant and refreshing acidity that is balanced by a residual sugar content of 3.34g/L. The Tempranillo Rose has an alcohol content of 12.0% and was produced in limited quantities, with only 1667 cases made. The grapes used in this wine were harvested from three vineyards, with 52% coming from Zenith Vineyards, 29% from Illahe Vineyards, and 19% from Plagmann. The wine was fermented with 20% barrel fermentation and 80% tank fermentation. The grapes were harvested from October 11th to October 14th, 2022, with an average brix at harvest of 20.1. This Tempranillo Rose showcases the unique terroir of the Willamette Valley and the skillful winemaking techniques of Illahe Vineyards.
