The 2018 vintage was fermented using exclusively native yeast (both primary and malolactic), with approximately 40% whole-cluster fermentation. The wine was aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, 7% of which were new.
Johan Estate Pinot Noir
The objective of our flagship Pinot Noir is to create a bottling that most accurately represents our sense of place in a given vintage. We carefully select parcels of fruit from every rootstock/scion combination, aspect, vine age, and soil profile, creating a collage of the diverse expressions of our vineyard through the lens of Pinot Noir.
