From the Winemaker:
We steward these 30 year old Riesling vines nestled in the hills of Sherwood. This wine was made with heavily concentrated botrytized grapes from the last pass of the vineyard on October 23rd. After a full day of cold maceration, the grapes were pressed and fermented in neutral oak barrels. THe wine sat sur lie until bottling in May 2022.
Fino Sherry and raw almond aromas dance in the glass. Upon the first sip, the drinker is greeted with a cornucopia of nuts. Walnut, hazelnut, and of course more almond are enveloped by dried apricot. A wondrous display reminiscent of a well worn goat leather jacket hanging in a Grandmother’s guest bathroom.
Like all our wines it is native vineyard yeast fermented in neutral oak barrels with zero additives other than a fractional amount of sulfite. Unfiltered and Unfined.
