Piquepoul (peek-pool) is short for Picpoul de Pinet, a grape from the French Mediterranean coast that grows well in Texas. It’s nickname is “lip-stinger” and its naturally high acidity, bright citrus and melon flavors make it a perfect gulper poolside (or tubing, or at a BBQ, or a picnic, or at the beach, or…), but it’s equally at home with oysters or seafood. In the warmth of Texas, though, there’s an exceptionally drinkable softness to the variety that makes the bottle disappear quickly!
