From the Winemaker:
The “El Monte” estate vineyard is the single vineyard to source the Monte Real Gran Reserva. The parcels are gobelet-trained vines, located at 430 metres to 530 metres above sea level on the banks of the Ebro river.  Aged for 36 months in 50% French oak and 50% American oak barrels (new for the first year) followed by refining in the bottle for a minimum of 24 months.

Fermentation: Destemmed and fermented in large upright wood tinas.
Aging:Â Aged for 24 to 30 months in French and American casks, followed by 24 months in bottle
