From the Winemaker:
Feudo di Mezzo is perhaps the largest district of the Etna DOC: homogeneous in character, but with evident qualitative variations. A bit like one might say of Clos de Vougeot in Burgundy.
The best particles – like our “Quadro delle Rose” – exhibit a shady character, autumnal suggestions in its spicy-resin bouquet. Always the first area to be harvested, it also always gives us the most open, generous and soft wines. Of all our crus, it is the supremely velvety one, with the softest tannins and enveloping bouquet. I love it when it ages ineffably, its twilight nature gaining luminosity as it matures.
