Teroldego Rotaliano, in Italian “Oro del Tirolo”, from a probable interpretation of the idiom “Tiroler Gold”. The rulers of Austria, during their reign in Trentino in fact, considered this wine to be excellent, for both its intense, deep colour, with the aroma of raspberry and blackberry and its full, round flavour, with just the right level of tartness and tannin-free: as the name says, Tiroler Gold.
It goes well with cheese soufflés, intermediate dishes; also excellent with roasted red meats, game, hard, and mature cheeses.
